Titan House Evaluation & Treatment Services
Location: Titan House is located on the campus of Wyndham Lawn Home for Children in Lockport, NY.
Admissions Criteria: Titan House serves hard-to-place youth, ages 6 to 12, at our facility in Lockport, NY. Youth ages 5, 13 and 14 and youth with an IQ less than 65 (within the same age ranges) will be considered on an individual basis.
Titan House Services
90-day evaluation-focused placement
Includes:
- Psychiatric assessment
- Psychoeducational evaluation
- Socio-emotional assessment
- Substance abuse evaluation
- Placement with short-term treatment (stabilization, behavioral management)
- Recommendations for continued treatment and placement
Placement focused on individualized, trauma-focused treatment
The appropriate length of stay is determined collaboratively by the county, family and New Directions staff based on need and progress. Youth receive the services listed above.
Well maintained facilities: Titan House serves eight to nine youth. Each has his or her own bedroom.

Recreation: The children will have a variety of therapeutic recreational activities on site as well as in the community. They can enjoy outdoor activities such as swimming, playing on the swings or playing in the snow, depending on the weather. Indoor activities include arts and crafts. The children also have access to the YMCA, go on field trips and go to sporting events.

Home Visits: Families are permitted to visit their children at Titan House. Visits usually occur on weekends but parents may visit during the week as well. The frequency and duration will depend on the individual needs of the child and family. Home visits are arranged at the discretion of the county Department of Social Service caseworker and the Titan House social worker.
Education: Titan House residents attend a full-day school program at Henrietta G. Lewis Campus School.
Elementary Education: Elementary students attend class in the elementary building, located next to Titan House. Core subjects are taught by a certified teacher with support from a certified teacher assistant. Special area subjects (foreign language for grades 3-5, art, music and physical education) are taught by subject area-certified teachers at the main school building.
They also eat lunch in the main building.
Middle and High School: Middle and high school students attend school in the main school building, located a short walk across campus.
